Covergirl Outlast Smoothwear
Lip Color
This product is a little tricky. You have to apply it onto clean, dry lips, making sure not to blot it or rub your lips together. So you stand in front of the mirror, carefully applying a smooth even layer (not too thick), then stand for a good minute while it dries, lips slightly parted, not smiling or else the color would sink into the lines in your lips making them very obvious! After it’s dried, you apply a clear smooth overcoat which you do a few times throughout the day to keep your lips looking fresh and moist.
Great concept! It doesn’t come off, whether you’re eating, kissing, drinking or even swimming! It “Outlasts” even my desire to have it on! And when you want to get it off, it’s really hard to do! I’ve rubbed and scrubbed until my skin started coming off before it did. So if you make a mistake in applying it, and your lip lines start showing real bad, good luck trying to get it off! I was able to apply it to my satisfaction twice I think, after about 5 or 6 attempts (over several days).
Conclusion: You have to play around with the amount you apply and how you do it to get it on nicely. Also, you will want to keep the smooth overcoat with you throughout the day, because once it’s gone, your lips will tend to look really dry, and again, lines will show pretty badly.
I’m actually on the fence with this one. It’s finicky in some areas, but also really cool in others. The price is a little high and it’s not like a one time application and you don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the day. So…you decide!
Might or might not buy it again, ladies.
